What is CLEP and how many credits does it give?

CLEP is the College-Level Examination Program, run by College Board. Each exam is worth roughly three to six college credits, depending on the exam and the policy of your college. Passing one can replace a full introductory course.

Is this site really free?

Yes. CLEP AI Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. There are no subscriptions, no paywalls and no ads. The practice tests and the in-person tutoring program are funded by donations, grants and volunteer time.

Do I need an account to practise?

Accepted Answer

No. You can pick a subject and start a practice test straight away. Your recent practice test sessions are kept on the device you used, so you can review them when you come back.

How do the practice tests work?

Choose a subject, then set how many questions you want, which difficulty, and whether to use a time limit. You can also practise only the questions you previously got wrong. After you submit, you see your score and which questions you missed. Every attempt is free and you can retake as often as you like.

Who can apply for free in-person tutoring?

The program is for underprivileged students: first-generation college students, students from low-income households, students at under-resourced schools, and anyone who cannot afford paid tutoring. Because volunteer time is limited, we may ask for simple proof of need before matching you with a tutor.

How is the organisation funded?
