Spanish Language: Levels 1 and 2 tests listening and reading comprehension at the level of two years of college Spanish. It carries the largest language question bank on this site.

The exam has three sections: short listening items that ask for an appropriate response, longer listening passages including dialogues and narratives, and a reading section that makes up the majority of the exam.
Reading is the largest component, covering vocabulary in context, grammar in use and comprehension of passages. Listening requires steady exposure rather than study.
Because the exam can award credit for up to two years of language study, it is often the single highest-value exam for students who already speak some Spanish.

How to study for this exam
- Read Spanish daily, even briefly. Reading speed is the strongest predictor of score.
- Listen to native-speed audio regularly so the listening sections do not feel rushed.
- Review verb tenses systematically, especially the past tenses and the subjunctive.
- Practise vocabulary in context rather than as isolated word lists.
How the practice test works
- Choose all units or a single unit to focus on.
- Set the number of questions and a time limit, or practise untimed.
- Filter by difficulty to warm up or push yourself.
- Retake as many times as you like — every attempt is free.
- Your recent sessions stay on this device so you can review them.

This exam tests listening and reading. There is no spoken or written production section.
