Introduction to Educational Psychology covers how people learn and how teaching can be designed around that. It is aimed at students heading into teaching programmes and is often accepted as an education elective.

The exam draws on cognitive and behavioural accounts of learning, development, motivation, individual differences, assessment and classroom practice. Research design and multicultural issues each carry their own share of questions.
Many items describe a classroom situation and ask which principle applies. Knowing the label for a phenomenon matters less than recognising it when it appears in a scenario.
Students who have worked as tutors, teaching assistants or camp counsellors often find the material intuitive, because they have already seen most of it happen.

How to study for this exam
- Separate behavioural from cognitive accounts of learning and be able to say what each predicts in a classroom.
- Learn the main motivation theories and the difference between intrinsic and extrinsic drivers.
- Review reliability, validity and the common types of classroom assessment.
- Work through scenario questions until picking the right principle becomes quick.

No, but it helps you picture the scenarios. The exam is written for students who have taken an introductory course, not for practising teachers.
Does this overlap with Introductory Psychology?
Partly. Learning, development and testing appear in both, so preparing for one gives you a head start on the other.
