Function of a Ferromagnetic Core
When used in an electromagnet, a ferromagnetic core
Aincreases the strength of the electromagnet because the core itself is a permanent magnet
Bincreases the strength of the electromagnet because its magnetic domains align under the influence of the applied magnetic field
Cdecreases the strength of the electromagnet because its magnetic domains become randomly oriented under the influence of the applied magnetic field
Ddoes not increase the strength of the electromagnet, but merely provides structural support for the coiled wire
Eis not utilized in the majority of electromagnets
